On completion of my degree in Leisure Management, I wanted to find an employer who would continue my development and give me practical experience in the industry. Working for Spirit Health Clubs has enabled me to do this, and I have continually developed throughout my career in the company. Spirit Health Clubs support you throughout your employment with excellent training and the opportunity to obtain nationally recognised qualifications such as First Aid at Work, Pool Attendant, Gym Instructor Certificate and Advanced Instructor Certificate.
Career development is another positive aspect of working within Spirit Health Clubs, as the training is structured to enable you to progress within the company. I was able to progress from my role as a Lifestyle Consultant to Deputy Club Manager within six months of joining the company, and became Club Manager within two years of joining the company at the tender age of 22. Even when you reach management level your development continues, as I continue to attend training courses and seminars to maintain my status on the Fitness Industry Association’s Register of Exercise Professionals. Spirit Health Clubs ensure all of their staff is certified on REPs, as this is a nationally recognised register - however not all employers have their staff registered!
