Club Spirit - Testimonial
Lil Waters – Club Manager, Milton Keynes
I joined Spirit Health Clubs in 1998 after graduating from university with a Sports Studies Degree. After looking at the various health club providers in the industry, I was impressed with the training that Spirit Health Clubs provide. Within a year-and-a-half I had completed my Gym Instructor, Advanced Instructor and Management Certificate qualifications. Following on from this I became a Regional Recruitment Representative, as well as becoming a Deputy Club Manager at one of the clubs.
I have now progressed and been a Club Manager for four years, whilst still assisting the region with my Training and Resourcing Coordinator role. Within this role I have completed my City and Guilds Certificate in Delivering Learning qualification, and I am currently completing my OCR A1 qualification. I enjoy helping other team members within Spirit Health Clubs with the training for their instructor qualifications and also on their assessment days. Active IQ certifies the instructor qualifications, which is a leading provider of qualifications in the industry.
I thoroughly enjoy working for Spirit Health Clubs, and I am keen to continue to progress within the company. What’s more, continuous development is provided which contributes to my renewal with REPs every year.
As a Club Manager the skills required are varied, and every day in the club is different. As a Training and Resourcing Coordinator, this gives me the opportunity to help others to learn skills that I have developed over the years and help them in their development.
