Club Spirit - Testimonial
Dan Nayler – Senior Lifestyle Consultant, Colchester
Having worked for many different leisure companies I have gained a vast amount of knowledge, and have been able to experience how differently places are run. I joined Spirit Health Clubs in April 2006 having already completed my YMCA Gym Instructors award off my own back over weekends. Within two weeks of joining the company, I was attending my first course, taking my NARS Pool Attendant which was closely followed by my First Aid at Work and a sales course.
Within two months I was taking Spirit Health Club’s own Gym Instructors Award, which is nationally recognised by REPs. This was completed over two training days and an assessment day. Both of the training days were full of information, helpful hints and tips, and an in-depth folder to study and learn from. Throughout the course there was help at hand not only from my in-club trainer, but also from the course tutors themselves who were always ready to help and easy to approach. Assessment for the course was in three stages: ongoing over the training days, two written papers and a formal assessment. This is a very well structured, well-organised course with all the help you want or need readily available to you.
I have now progressed to the role of Senior Lifestyle Consultant, moved to a new Spirit Health Club, and am working towards both my Advanced Instructors Certificate and Personal Trainer, as well as other Management certificates. In no other leisure organisation that I have worked for previously has there been such an opportunity to progress and better myself as there has been with Spirit Health Clubs. You can progress as quickly or slowly as you want, and you develop with all the support and advice that you need being readily available.
