Spirit Health Club Edinburgh Member's Christmas Party

The annual member’s Christmas party will take place on Friday 14th December 2007 in Traders restaurant.  Tickets are priced at £20 per person and members are entitled to bring up to two guests.  The evening includes a traditional three course festive meal with complimentary wine during the meal.  Once the meal is completed, you can then take the chance to dance with the staff into the small hours.  In order to give us an idea of numbers we appreciate if you can let us know as soon as possible how many tickets you require.  The annual Christmas party is always a lot of fun and a great opportunity to meet your fellow members so please support the event.

Sampans Member Social Evening

Our annual Sampans Social Evening has been put on hold until the New Year due to the restaurant being busy for the next few weeks and we felt that this event was growing ever closer to the Christmas Party.  Our aim is to hold this event in February to coincide with Chinese New Year so keep your eyes peeled in the New Year for a new date for this.

A Special Mention

On behalf of the staff and members of Spirit Health Club, I would like to congratulate William Clark who has recently returned from the Special Olympics in Shanghai with a Gold Medal in the football.  William has been a member of Spirit for two years and we would like to think his efforts in the gym over the years has helped him in achieving this great accolade.

Gym Challenge

Alan will shortly be unveiling his next gym challenge for all members so why not add a competitive edge to your workout and take part.  This challenge will take place in November in preparation for the Christmas Calorie Burn that will commence on Monday 10th December 2007.

Swimming Lessons

The current term of swimming lessons with Swimming Nature is due to finish on Sunday 16th December.  In the meantime, I have agreed with Swimming Nature that daily numbers will be reduced to a maximum of six kids per session in the hope that this will reduce some of the congestion in the changing areas during the lesson times.  I would like to thank all of those members who have provided feedback on the initial trial term for the lessons.  I appreciate there have been some unforeseen difficulties and this has been taken into consideration in preparation for next year.  I am currently re-negotiating the agreement with Swimming Nature with a view of limiting lessons to two days during the week plus the weekends.  If anyone has any thoughts on this then please feel free to feedback to me directly before any final decisions are made.

Pedal for Scotland

On behalf on Liam & Alan, I would like thank everyone who sponsored them in their Pedal for Scotland cycle in aid of Leukaemia Research.  They have raised nearly £500 but are still awaiting some sponsor money so we appreciate if anyone who has still to hand in their money could do so as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely,

Thomas Mann
