SPIRIT AND HOLIDAY INN BRISTOL’S CHARITY FOR 2010
In 2010 we are delighted to announce that we will be fundraising money for a brand new charity, Claremont School.
Claremont School is in North Bristol, currently catering for pupils in the Primary and Secondary age range who have physical disabilities and a range of learning needs, including Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).
It has been decided, with help from our very own FOSH committee that this year we will be raising money to go towards a project and having had discussions with the school, it has been decided that we will help to raise money towards a new minibus for the school.
They have informed us that they are committed to Learning Outside the Classroom for all the children at Claremont, getting them out into the community and generalising what they learn in the classroom. They also follow the ASDAN programmes at secondary which involve the young people choosing activities to follow and look at developing independence skills in preparation for leaving school at 19. They also have to transport children between sites for them to access the hydro pool. Making this a very worthy charity for us to support.
Events for fundraising will take place throughout the year including, Quiz nights car wash, Sponsored leg wax, Nicola running the London Marathon, summer parties, Club challenges (like climb Kilimanjaro) and many more.
